Freaky Friends!

Say hello to Brutus, Bushfire, Mother Engine and Motorowl!

We’re coming down to the freaky wire on this year’s FREAK VALLEY FESTIVAL lineup and we know it. There are FIVE bands left to add to the bill and today we’re going to give you four. Every year of Freak Valley is special, but we’re extra proud of Freak Valley 2018 and can’t wait to welcome you all in just a few weeks!

But speaking of welcoming – say hello to Brutus, BUSHFIRE, Mother Engine and Motorowl!

Brutus

Would you believe Brutus have been at it for more than a decade? It seems like only yesterday we were rocking out to their 2010 self-titled debut, but oh wait, that WAS yesterday, and it was their 2016 album ‘Wandering Blind!’ That’s right. The Swedish/Norwegian masters of the classic boogie arts come to Freak Valley at the peak of their powers and at their most vital moment yet. They just might start their own personal riot!

Bushfire

Here’s a fun fact: Apart from 2017, Darmstadt’s Bushfire have played every single installment of Freak Valley Festival. They are nothing less than family, and we’re happy as hell not only to have them back this year, but to announce that they’ll be recording their first-ever live album on our stage! We’re honored! If you haven’t checked out their latest LP, ‘When Darkness Comes’ get on it! Oh, and check out their video for “Die Trying!” We love these guys.

Mother Engine

With influences from krautrock to stoner, Germany’s own Mother Engine are an instrumentalist, explorational powerhouse. Their sound is always, evolving, always growing, as we heard on their first album for HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS last year, ‘Hangar,’ which the band recorded themselves for the first time. Expect spaced-out vibes and hard-hitting riffs when Mother Engine come back to Freak Valley!

Motorowl

The kids are more than alright! The young German outfit have played support for Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Sólstafir since releasing their 2016 Century Media Records debut, ‘Om Generator,’ and hit on an underground buzz the likes of which we’ve rarely encountered. A force onstage, the five-piece come to Freak Valley after playing shows this Spring alongside Grave Pleasures and High on Fire, among others! Expectations are huge for them but we know they’ll deliver for the freaks!

Like we said, only ONE MORE BAND to be announced from here, folks. Stay tuned to find out who it is!

Love always,

Your Rock Freaks
